A Coastal Summer Wedding

As a wedding calligrapher, I have the greatest pleasure of creating timeless and cohesive pieces for couples. It brings me such joy to be able to work with couples that each bring their unique vision to their day. This summer has been full of amazing weddings - one of them being for Madeline and Joe which took place in June at the Shenorock Shore Club in Rye, New York!

I met Madeline through her planner, Lauren Zizza of Lauren Zizza Events. The three of us worked together on creating a cohesive design throughout the whole wedding; from being greeted with a welcome sign to choosing your drinks with a signature drink sign. Each item was carefully thought through to bring together the whole vision.

Welcome Sign

A welcome sign for your wedding can still be unique even if the general message is the same. We brought in the green scalloped like border as you will see throughout the other day of details. This was positioned right as you walked into the venue to greet all of the guests.

Escort Cards

Escort cards are a great way to direct your guests to their specific table. If placed in alphabetical order it is an organized and convenient way for your guests to find their name and table assignment. With these cards we chose a quality paper in a tented style and brought in the sage green color that was used throughout the other items. Each guests names was handwritten in calligraphy with their table number noted below.

Table Numbers

The best part about this wedding design was the cohesiveness. Everything was made with a purpose. We used the same colors for all of the pieces and the same green scalloped border. Bringing in these design elements across the board truly shows that everything was designed with intention and purpose. They were built into the already romantic classic table setting and brought a nice pop of color.

Menus

Recognize this design from any other elements? Of course you do! These menus were placed at everyone’s seat along with their place card that brought in the same hand calligraphy and color scheme.

Signature Drink Signage

The final piece to bring the whole cohesive design together was the Signature Drink sign. Madeline and Joe both hand picked their signature drink for their guests to enjoy. Each description was adorned with a watercolor drawing of each drink which brought such a custom touch to these signs that were placed at each bar setting.

I absolutely loved working on this wedding. I loved that Madeline and Joe appreciated a custom cohesive design that truly elevated their overall wedding. It is why I love being a wedding calligrapher - working cohesively on a custom elevated design is what I love to do. It is especially fun when the couple appreciates all that goes into making this all possible.

If you are planning a wedding and would like to connect with me I would love to hear about your vision! It would be my pleasure to create custom calligraphy pieces for your wedding day or next big event!
