Elegant Summer Coastal Wedding at Private Residence in Madison, Connecticut
This past September, Abby and Chris celebrated their wedding at a Private Residence in Madison, Connecticut that has been in their family for generations. This wedding was both beautiful and unforgettable. From the moment we started working together, it was clear that every detail would be intentional, meaningful, and a perfect reflection of their love story. From their custom Save the Dates and Invitation Suite to the thoughtful day-of details, every piece was carefully curated to bring their vision to life.
The private residence has been in the groom’s family for generations and is settled on the coast overlooking the Long Island Sound; which created a beautiful backdrop for their outdoor reception!
The reception embraced coastal elegance, with dinner tables and a dance floor set beneath glowing bistro lights, creating a magical atmosphere as the sun set over the water. Guests dined al fresco, surrounded by the charm of the shoreline and the warmth of an intimate celebration.
Rather than going with the ‘traditional’ blue and white theme of a coastal wedding, Abby and Chris decided to go a little less traditional and I was 100% on board for that! Just because you're having a coastal wedding doesn’t mean you have to stick to the traditional blues and whites! Abby’s vision was inspired not by the waves, but by the natural colors of the landscape surrounding the home. We incorporated a stunning palette of browns, greens, creams, and even pops of red, blending seamlessly with the setting and creating a look that felt organic and intentional.
Every element was designed to complement the natural beauty of the residence, proving that coastal weddings can be as unique as the couple themselves.
Personalized Details That Told Their Story
One of the most special elements of their wedding was the custom oyster shell illustration we designed featuring their initials. This unique design became a signature motif throughout their wedding details:
It adorned the inner liner of their invitation suite, adding a personal and unexpected touch.
A custom flag featuring the oyster design was proudly displayed on the property’s flagpole during the reception, making for a truly special moment.

Working with Abby on every paper detail—from the first impression of their Save the Dates to the finishing touches on their day-of signage—was such a joy. She had a clear vision, and seeing it all come together on their wedding day was incredible.
